Metzukei Dragot

The route starts from the Metzukei Dragot resort village, or from any pickup point the client prefers.
A challenging off-road ride through the Judean Desert with spectacular rock scenery and breathtaking canyons, out to Mitzpe Machver overlooking the shores of the Dead Sea.

We set out from Metzukei Dragot and drive the dirt road westward alongside the bank of Nachal Darga. Where the road meets Nachal Darga it curves west, and after about 2 km we reach the challenging crossing of Nachal Tekoa. We continue south on the green route for about another 3 km to Khirbet Menekushiya and the junction with the blue-marked trail. Before turning to the lookout, we continue about 200 m further south to enjoy the sight of the Menekushiya reservoir – an ancient, impressively large water reservoir that collected the floodwaters flowing through Nachal Chatzatzon. We return to the blue route and drive east to the lookout terrace at Mitzpe Machver, where we stop, enjoy the incredible view and keep some photos as a memento. From there we return the same way, or add on further routes.
